A common subject of discussion in Kolkata of the last two weeks has been the weather. It has just rained, and rained, and rained even more. Born and brought up in North Kolkata I am used to seeing boats ply in the areas bordering Amherst Street and Thanthania Kalibari, areas notorious for waterlogging.
